First Congregational Church Annual Meeting will be held Sunday January 17th. We will have a pot-luck dinner following worship. The Annual Meeting will follow the meal. The meeting is open to all members of First Congregational Church. We hope to see everybody there.
Our students were recognized in our local paper this week for the work and service they did through our area Neighborhood Service Center's Santa Anonymous program.
Students spent time and their own money that they had earned buying gifts for those who might not have much under the Christmas tree this year. Christmas is NOT about material things, but when you are a kid, and there's nothing under the tree, you feel left out and left behind often times. Our students want to love their peers in our community and give back generously!
Pastor Chris Meirose is in Salt Lake City representing our church and Minnesota at the 2015 NACCC* Annual Meeting. If you would like to keep up with what is going on there, there is a blog that will be posting regular updates throughout the meeting.
Please keep Pastor Chris and all the leadership of the NACCC in your prayers as they work on the future of our association (what some might call our denomination).
Brenton Balvin will be preaching this coming Sunday for Father's Day and will have a great message for our church!

We will be collecting school supplies through July to take to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in August. Please place donation in container in back of sanctuary. Anyone interested in going to Pine Ridge in August please contact Mission committee for more information or to reserve your spot. (Roger, Carol, Cindy, Roberta, and Amber)
We will also be collecting left over building supplies such as nails, screws, left over tile, shingles, siding etc. for Pine Ridge. If you’d use it for home remodeling we’ll take it! Any size, amount, and color is appreciated. Please place donations in church garage or contact Roger Ashland or Amber Gerdes.
Side note, we will be collecting working wash machines and stoves at some point this summer so if you could announce that as well it would be appreciated. Hopefully we’ll catch some people before they get rid of them. If they have any available now they can contact me or Cindy Johnson.
We are looking for volunteers to man the Neighborhood Service Food Collection Truck on August 8th. Volunteers will sign up for 1 hour shifts starting at 10am to 12 at Hy-Vee and 12:30 to 4:30 at Wal-Mart. Sign-up sheet will be in binder passed during church. Contact Cindy Johnson with questions.
